OWNERS

MASUD SARKAR

Owner Pharmacist

Masud is not a traditional pharmacist. He is experienced in multidisciplinary arena of pharmacy profession. He started his career as a lecturer of a pharmacy school. Then he switched his job to the “New Product Development” department of a pharmaceutical company, where he helped bringing new medication within the reach of patients. After finishing his masters in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology degree Masud served as a hospital pharmacist in an international hospital. But strong passion to serve people in community made him interested to become a community pharmacist in Canada where he worked in different chain pharmacies including Shoppers Drug Mart before taking over Pharmasave Downtown Surrey that is one of the oldest pharmacy in this area.

Masud finds his niche and passion in providing one to one care to Diabetic, High Blood Pressure and other clinical patients in need and also delivering much needed counseling and immunization to travelers and other vulnerable individuals. Being a caring and compassionate pharmacist he does home/hospital visit to educate patients of their health needs and managing their complex medication profiles.Compliments like “You saved my life” or “you told me something that nobody told me before” make Masud proud of being a pharmacist.

Father of two sons in personal life Masud is very outgoing and multicultural person. Bengali being his mother tongue he speaks Hindi, Urdu, Arabic and Punjabi. He is co-founder and treasurer of a Canada based charity organization named Step to Humanity.

With a very strong work ethic Masud is committed to go extra mile to build a everlasting relationship between the surrounding community and Pharmasave Downtown Surrey.

Mohammad G. Rahman

Owner Executive

Mohammad Ghulam Rahman has been partnered with pharmacist Mr. Masud to continue serving the society through PHARMASAVE DOWNTOWN SURREY (Pharmasave #179) since September 2019. After serving for more than two decades in teaching and research in different countries in the field of Engineering, Mohammad switched his area of interest to pharmacy operation to adhere to his passion of working with people of all walks of life. He is currently looking after the operation and management of Pharmasave 179.

Mohammad was a Post Doctoral Fellow of University of Calgary. He obtained his PhD from Japan, Masters from Thailand and Bachelors from Bangladesh in Engineering.

He is a family oriented person and lives with his family in Surrey. In his free time, he loves outings, long drives and dining out. Other than English and his mother tongue Bengali, he can communicate in Hindi, Urdu, Bahasa Melayu, Japanese and Thai.

VOLUNTEER STAFF

At Pharmasave Downtown Surrey we are pleased to connect with the local community by offering our volunteer opportunities to give youth in the neighbourhood a change to gain some working experience in the retail industry. This can help build the students confidence as well as a reference for their resume, while providing the community with an important resource for youth to get a step ahead.
